Keeping myself committed to my workout routine through the freezing Boston winters is not easy. So, I try to stock up on a few favorite things to keep me warm, motivated and moving. A new challenge for me this winter... though a very cute one.. is my new goldendoodle puppy, Bella. She is 4 months old, a bundle of energy, and she sure loves her daily walks, which means I am outside a lot. Here are a few things I am loving for winter wellness and warmth:
In my gym bag: SkynGym lip treatment, Barre Socks, 50 oz water bottle ( this helps me make sure I am reaching my goal to drink half my body weight in oz of water a day), lightly scented perfume oil, ear buds/headphones, and raw unsalted almonds.
On My Body: The apple watch. Now that daily walks are back in my life, the Apple watch lets me track how many more steps I am getting in. My walks with my puppy are really racking up the miles.
These Carbon38 Leggings I love love these, even though, I don't actually workout in them. Shop these with my 25% discount code: Jessicadia50
Sports bras. I have tried all types, and the ones that always work the best are from LuLu Lemon. I am loving the energy bra.
Go-to leggings for barre class. I have a small collection of the Splits59 Tendu Grip Tights since falling in love with them in 2012. They are perfect for barre because of the grips on the bottom. Shop these tights with my 15% code: JessicaDiaz22
On my Playlist: I have been listening to a lot of Phantogram and this new playlist up on Spotify. Music always gets me motivated.
On My Skin: Rica bath and body butter. This stuff is amazing! Whipped shea butter. You can buy it locally at Follain. Another favorite product of mine is Organic Bath's Java Jolt Sugar Scrub. I love this scrub! It is organic, fair-trade, works, and smells like coffee!
Keeping me warm: I am a coffee addict. Truly! However, I am really trying to cut back on the amount of caffeine I consume. I decided to swap my afternoon coffee to a much healthier choice. I am drinking a tea recommended to me by integrative and functional nutritionist, Beth Reardon, M.S., R.D, L.D.N. Beth recommends drinking this great tasting green, ginger, turmeric tea by the Republic of Tea. It has amazing health benefits and is also anti-inflammatory. I drink two tea bags at a time, with an orange slice in it. So good! Beth recommends up to six tea bags a day.
On My To-Do List: I am keeping myself inspired and always learning with some fun events coming to town this winter and you are welcome to join me:

Wednesday, January 18th starts the new 6 week insight meditation workshop with Fez Aswat. This will be my second time taking this 6 week workshop. I never thought I was someone who would be able relax and quiet my mind, but Fez's method taught me how to do this for the first time in my life. I cannot wait for his class to begin again in a few weeks. This might just be the most valuable "workout" I do all winter.
